Entry Requirements


All students of every nationality are required to prove their English language competences as well as their French language competences.

Undergraduates’ and Postgraduates’ requirements

Online application:

Fill in the online application and submit it to the IFC International department.

Prospective students make their applications online and the IFC Group forwards the application on to the relevant campus. Your application is specifically designed for the programme you choose to apply for and it is sensitive to the answers you provide as you proceed through the application

Students have to give an official translation of their degree and recognition especially for BTS application.

Letter of acceptance:

Once you have submitted an online application you will be sent details of your future interview, if you success at the first step
If, having looked at the information online, you have identified a course you would like to apply to, fill in the online application informing of your plans and circumstances. Please give as much information as possible about the courses/qualifications you are currently studying/have completed in your own country, the scores you are achieving/have achieved and the course you wish to study at IFC, to enable the Tutor to assess your academic potential.

Interview:

A session, where you will demonstrate your motivation, skills and commitment
Applicants are interviewed. Overseas applicants may be asked to submit samples of their written work, and are required to sit an admissions test. Admissions decisions at IFC are based solely on academic criteria - your ability and your potential. Along with all the other information you provide, interviews help Admissions Tutors to assess your application.

We invite everyone who has a realistic chance of being offered a place to attend an interview. If you have a good examination record and a favorable reference, you're likely to be invited to attend an interview. However, due to the level of competition for places, not all candidates who are interviewed will be successful/made an offer of a place, but all those who are made an offer will have been interviewed.

Letter of Acceptance:

Once you have done your interview you will be sent details of your future school year at the IFC
Applicants are notified of decisions. The possibilities are:

  • application unsuccessful
  • the offer of a conditional place, subject to obtaining specified examination grades
  • the offer of an unconditional place

Deadlines

Applications start in February until October 1st.  

Application Fee

An application fee is required. Non-payment will mean that the application is not presented for assessment. This is payable during the application process. The fee is €150. It is also possible to pay the application fee online after you have submitted the application. Applications made through recognized educational agents will not incur an application fee.

English language requirements

All applicants are required to demonstrate a high level of competence in English language. Applicants must provide evidence of equivalent competence in English language through a recognized English language test, as outlined below.
If English is not your first language, a reasonable standard in spoken English is required at the time of interview. Please see the English language requirements for standards that would be required by the time of entry.
Please note:

  • Your English language certificate must be no more than two years old at the beginning of your degree course.
  • Other evidence of proficiency in English may be accepted. For further advice please contact IFC International Department (international@ifc.fr) to check if we will accept it. When enquiring, please inform while the Online Application of: the name, level and date of the qualification; the country in which it was taken; and the scores you obtained. If possible, please send a scanned copy of the certificate and transcripts (if available) showing as much as possible of the information above.

French language requirements

If French is not your first language, a reasonable standard in spoken French is required at the time of interview. Please see the French language requirements for standards that would be required by the time of entry.

Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF)

Founded in 1945 and a national public institution since 1987, the CIEP is recognized both in France and abroad for its skills with regard to expert evaluation, training, assessment, and management of international projects. The CIEP is a key public operator under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research. It is in addition the main operating partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. It relies on a network of national and international experts and partners, as well as on its staff of 250.

Europe

Visa immigration requirements:

You may need to apply for a student visa to enter in France. If you are from a country in the European Union you don’t need a visa.
Students from all other countries are required to apply for a student visa.
If you need a visa or entry clearance to enter the France you will have to prove that you can support yourself financially whilst in the France.
Students cannot rely on part-time work as part of their evidence of financial support and international students (who need a visa or entry clearance to enter the UK) are not permitted to study part-time.

From a country using the CEF procedure:

If you live in the following countries, you must use online CEF procedure:  Algeria, Argentina, Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chile, China, Colombia, Comoros, Congo Brazzaville, South Korea, Ivory Coast, the United States, Gabon, Guinea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Maurice, Mexico, Peru, Senegal, Russia, Syria, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, and Vietnam.

The candidates, who want to study in France (first year of studies or chase or studies), have to pass by the online application via Campus France (www.campusfrance.org/en/page/a-country-using-cef-procedure). It deals with the CEF procedure (Centre for Studies in France). What is the interest of this device? Make easier administrative steps for a candidate up to the request of visa. The constitution of a personal electronic file allows the benefit of support and advices, to pre-apply to establishments of higher education in France and to have session with them.
